I’m Ferguson. I am part Indian, part Italian, and art English. I live in Scotland! A mess of heritage!
I love outdoor stuff, like fishing , shooting (only rabbits here in the UK), and.. You know, camping and hiking and stuff.
When I was about 6 years old my family and I went on a holiday to Italy. It was great.
We visited amazing castle with moats, and ate grapes and saw lizards and stuff.
One of my most vivid memories of that place – no, scratch that, I’m going to give you a few.
First of all, the farmhouse-style place we rented had straw carpets. STRAW! Mad, huh? I remember falling over and skinning my knees.
There was a hornet’s nest just outside the dining room window, I think. Massive things, like angry helicopters, buzzing around the kitchen. Thank God for permethrin.
And massive bats flapping around outside. The front of the building opened onto a massive yard with barns either side, and big fields of corn beyond. It was something I’d never seen before.
Finally – at the end of the yard, in the margin of the corn field, there was a huge fig tree with big juicy ripe figs on it – fichi in Italian.
Anyway, I’ve never had figs like it since.
This website is going to be about the stuff I love to do, like hunting and fishing and gardening. it gives me something to do when I’m stuck indoors!
